LCC MA Graphic Design: Unit 3 Outcome
Exploring the role of graphic designer as mediator of form and content, my Major Project Resolution visually explores fictional narratives. Using factual letters from the Mass Observation Archives and unclassified found family photographs as my source material, the outcome combines techniques of fiction and graphic authorship to construct a compelling story to engage with my audience.
By exposing the role of graphic designer as mediator and manipulator of information, I visually explored different ways of representing the same woman’s life across three forms of printed page-based media, to examine how meaning is constructed socially, historically and culturally.
